Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Sustainable development, defined as the ability to meet present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own, requires the active collaboration of governments, organizations, and communities. Corporate communication serves as a crucial tool for promoting sustainable development by fostering awareness, engaging stakeholders, and facilitating transparent dialogue. Effective communication ensures that stakeholders understand the objectives of sustainable development initiatives and actively participate in their implementation (Okonkwo & Musa, 2023). In Ganye Local Government Area, Adamawa State, the intersection of socio-economic, environmental, and cultural factors presents unique opportunities and challenges for sustainable development. Corporate communication plays a vital role in addressing these challenges by bridging gaps between policymakers, organizations, and local communities. This study examines how corporate communication impacts sustainable development in Ganye Local Government Area, focusing on the strategies used to promote environmental conservation, economic growth, and social equity.
